Lately everywhere I’ve gone I’ve had a conversation with someone who’s been like minded in the fact that we haven’t yet fully maximized our potential. Like many of my friends, I know I’m called to be doing something greater, something more than I am now. Although I’m grateful for where I am I’m excited about the opportunity to walk in purpose and the possibility to expand my territory. Interesting enough however I’ve had to change my mindset about things. For years I’ve tried to operate in a mindset of playing by the rules and constructs of life placed before me. Let me clarify that previous statement. You see I’ve always thought that I would amass wealth by owing my own business and building it after learning what I could through corporate education. For years this seemed to be the prevailing sentiment driving much of my career and financial decisions. However, lately it seems that operating in the way defined by the world limits the true power we possess as believers of Christ. You see we are trying to work inside of, and through, kingdoms we are supposed to possess. Through faith and a declaration of God’s power we are supposed to be lenders, developers, and, rulers. So now I’m changing my thought process.
You see security and safety is a human need. Having your feet firmly planted feels good. Stability is comforting but as long as your feet are planted you’ll never fly. You’ll never climb the mountain to see the land that you are supposed to possess. Sometimes we have to detach ourselves form the things binding us in order to soar.
A second key is preparing for the trip. See lately I’ve stepped back and tried to slow things down to prepare to take flight. I’ve needed to reassess relationships, actions, and decisions I’ve made in order to really see how far God can take me. I’ve had to have resources ready for my trip. On long flights you have to be prepared for the journey.
Third is that in order to fly it requires action on your part. When a bird learns to fly the mother bird will nudge the baby from the nest and watch as it drops. Innately the mother knows the child is ready to fly but has to push it. God will push you to do something when your ready it will be up to you to flap your winds and take flight. We have to move when He tells us to and we must be obedient to the things he wants us to do no matter how impossible, difficult or even unreasonable as they may seem. We must trust that God makes no mistakes. Jeremiah 1: 5 says, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.” This scripture is proof that God knew at some moment in your life you’d be ready to take flight.
You see we have to think in a manner of kingdom possession. We are supposed to own not owe, we are supposed to lend not lease, and we are supposed to give. What you think about you bring about and what you speak over you life shall be. Think Greater…

They call him the greatest, Muhammad Ali, a man who was known as much for his confidence and swagger as much as his ability to outclass opponents in the boxing ring faced many great opponents. In October of 1974 Muhammad Ali faced then heavyweight champion George Foreman in one of the greatest fights of all time known as the “Rumble in the Jungle.” The younger more powerful foreman seemed an overwhelming favorite against the then 32 year old Ali who had been fighting a string of lesser known fighters after his 3 year suspension from boxing for refusing to be drafted in the Vietnam war. Ali entered the fight the tried veteran who many doubted had much left. During the course of the fight Muhammad took blow after blow from Foreman. For 7 rounds Ali would lye on the ropes allowing the bigger Foreman to punch and punch. Until the 8th round….
Lately I’ve endured punch after punch from life and the enemy. If you name it I’ve been attacked in just about every area. You see that’s how the devil works. When you’re on the right path one where you are moving closer to God and trying to take other with you the enemy will throw everything at you to get you off track. Let’s see… it started with me having to move out of a place I just moved in too in only 3 weeks. The move cost money and ended costing me most of my furniture including my sofa, box spring, and desk which broke under the wear and tear of moving so much in the last few weeks. My health was attacked when I got a cold in the middle of the summer and of course the stress of other challenges hit me hard too. The financial cost of the loft fiasco drained resources and recently DePaul called and in an error they overpaid in refund checks 4,000$ and need that back before I can continue school In the 7th round of the fight my car was hit 3 separate times while parked!.. I know you’re thinking there is no way this could all happen to one person in 1 month well let me tell you it absolutely did. Like Ali it has appeared that I am on the ropes and about to be down for the count. Well… I’m fighting back.
Ali used the rope-a-dope strategy to let Foreman punch himself out. In the 8th round when Foreman got tired Ali knocked him out. Well I’m on the offensive. In Ephesians 10-17 it says…Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armour of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled round your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Well God’s word is my sword, my great left hook that I’m swinging with. Like Ali I laid on the ropes and took the best shots and now I’m swinging back. I’ve been on the defensive long enough.
I entreat you if you feel like you are under attack to use God’s word and swing back. Speak greatness over your life and speak change. We are not called to live lives or persecution nor are we to suffer. Endure this and mount an offensive of your own!.. Now is your time…
Be Young, Saved and Fly…

Trust Isn't Always Easy To Do, But Trusting God Has Limiteless Rewards
Trust Isn’t Always Easy To Do, But Trusting God Has Limiteless Rewards
You ever have one of those weeks where no matter what you do nothing seems to go right. Well I’m having on of those months. In the past I would have gotten frustrated and said forget it. Now I understand that when these times happen in my life it’s cause I’m doing some things very right. See in every aspect I’ve been trying to do a better job of pursuing God at another level. I haven’t been perfect by any means but I’ve been praying and more diligently seeking Him in many areas of my life. In return God has been bringing awesome people and opportunities in my life when they were least expected. The interesting thing of course is that as each new blessing enters a more swift and pinpoint attack seems to come at me. I’m blessed to have the concern and prayers of family and friends and their hands to help. Don’t quit! No matter what comes your way you can’t quit or give up because that is exactly what the enemy wants you to do. If you find that challenges and obstacles continue to come your way.. PRAY HARDER.. PRESS TOWARD THE MARK… Because you’re close to the breakthrough or blessing you’re expecting! I can see God’s hand in so many areas of my life and although I haven’t figured out how to deal with all the obstacles yet, I’m riding with Him cause I know He has a plan for my life. God has one for you too! Just diligently pursue an intimate relationship with Him. Jeremiah 29: 11 says, “For you know not the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you, not harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.” Don’t allow what you see to consume your faith. Your faith is greater than even what may seem impossible to overcome in front of you. I watched a great video on YouTube today of a man of God who said “you mess can become your message, your misery can become your ministry, and your test of money can become your testimony.” (Thank you so much sir for your words… ) You just have to start living like you believe God can and will do something great in your life. Even now I can’t see the solution to every issue I’m facing but I know that I’m covered because I’ve seen the right people enter and step up to help me go after every vision God’s given me. There’s peace in trusting Him!… Be Young, Saved and Fly.. Jeff
